ACKU Black BeltGetting An ACKU Black Belt
What does the ACKU black belt represent in Canada?
ACKU is 100% owned and operated by Canadian Black Belt holders. As Canadian Black Belts, we represent pure Canadian karate in a Canadian cultural context. Our karate techniques have been developed over forty years of actual municipal, provincial, national and international experience. ACKU is the leader in the development of Canadian, family karate. ACKU Black Belts know that the development of karate is a continual
process. Our programs are of the highest professional standard found anywhere in the world.
What is the result of ACKU karate training?
The individual gains confidence by regular training. This confidence leads to courage, which is not to be confused with ego.
The basic training (kihon) develops, strengthens and maintains the skeletal and muscular system. The forms (kata) are the historical record of offensive and defensive techniques of the ACKU system. Kata practiced at higher levels develops a strong spirit in the individual, and, provides an intensive workout, both mentally and physically. Partnerwork means the coming together of karate practitioners in order to practice distance, timing and technique. Partnerwork is a process, which develops and sharpens the mind.
ACKU karate builds discipline. Discipline builds character. Attributes of a person with good character could include loyal, law abiding, proper hygienic and health habits, studious, respectful of nature and possessing a spiritual sense of well being. People with these attributes enhance Canadian society.
ACKU Black Belts realize these true values of the All Canadian Karate Union.
   The All Canadian Karate Union
is bringing about great changes in the karate world.  ACKU is sending a message of family unity plus improved spiritual, mental and physical health through the study of ACKU karate.
Karate is a form of self-defense, but should never be used to hurt people, or crush their spirits. Everyone is capable of improvement, and should be allowed to progress.  ACKU allows each member to develop at their own pace.
   At an ACKU examination
you will observe a wide range of abilities and levels, just as you do in our Canadian society.
We feel proud of the accomplishments of each and every one of our unique members who try their best and respect each other.
